Itr form for lecturers??

Dear all

please advise which form should be used by a person who was hired by a coaching institute for only 4 months and his TDS was deducted as he didn't have a PAN.

Now he needs to claim refund. So which form should be used for filing income tax return.

Without PAN we cant get refund because TDS amount credited by the deductor through PAN of the assessee.

tds credit wont be available unless the tds return is revised and pan detail is corrected for the person. only then refund of tds is possible.

Dear Sirs,

My first question is which ITR form I should download from the website of 'incometaxindiaefiling' to file income tax return?

For e.g. i selected ITR 1 which was for salaried emloyees.

My question is : will this remuneration received from the institute be called "salary" or "professional income"

if salary ?: then there is no problem and I know which form to be filed

if profession ? : then I need to understand which form is there that should be filed.

please advise.

let me also clarify that now the person has a PAN ...

to decide whether it is salary or professional income, check in which section tds has been deducted.. if 192b then treat it as salary and file itr -1 and if 194j then treat it as professional income and file itr-4.
