I want to file my return in ITR 1 Sugam. I am a salaried person. Today I tried to file my return but to my surprise return show a penalty of Rs. 1000/ for late filing.As the date has been extended to 31/8/2018 why this late filing penalty. Please explain

Download latest ITR1 utility (version PR4) from e-filling site....... there the penalty is not charged.
