ITC on construction expense of building

Sir / Madam,

I would like to know, Can we take input tax credit on construction expense of building which is to be used for rental services?.

Is it ineligible under 17 (5)?.

How can we let rental services without building ?.

Kindly clear my confusion if you can

Thanks & Regards

Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies whether Input Tax Credit (ITC) can be claimed on building construction expenses when the building is used for rental services. The general consensus is that ITC is not allowed on expenses of a capital nature, as per Section 17(5) of the GST Act. However, if the expenses are revenue in nature, ITC may be permissible. For specific guidance, consulting a Chartered Accountant is recommended.

We can not claim
Any construction expenses incurred which is 'Capital in nature', then ITC is not allowed as per section 17(5), if revenue in nature then allowed.
