you need to send duly signed ITR V and computation, no need to attach challan  with it, within 120 days of e-filing at bengaluru cpc by speed post or ordinary post only

Yes, it is must becoz the IT Department want an proof that the Return is filed by the assessee is duly filed after taking all the knowledge of the Assessee...
and if Assessement proceedings to be carry on that should be carried easily after taking that return into consideration.

And within 120 days u have to send the same to IT Depatment.

Only the Form ITR - V is enough..and  i agree with Govind Gupta..

truely said -Deepak......only ITR V signed by the assessee is to be sent to bnglr when u filed ITR without digital signature....there is no need to send it when u filed the ITR with digital signature..
