Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies whether to use Challan 280 for Advance Tax or Self Assessment Tax, particularly for PSU employees with a tax liability exceeding TDS. The consensus is that if the net tax liability after TDS is over £10,000, it should be paid as Advance Tax before the financial year ends. While Self Assessment Tax is typically paid after the FY, Advance Tax can be paid even if the 31st March deadline hasn't passed, with recent government relaxations potentially extending due dates.

It will be advance tax only..

Self assessment tax will be paid after end of the FY
@ Mr Riya Jain.,

You can pay advance tax. Also the due dates are extended as per recent press release by Income Tax dept.

Also Your tax liability is less than 10k then no need to pay Advance tax...
Dear, of net tax liability after tds etc..is less than 10000 then u need not to pay advance tax for that.. however it will be paid under advance tax not in self assessment tax
If the tax payable by the assessee in relevance to the income earned during the f. y. is more than 10k, then he's liable to pay advance tax

As per the querist, the tax liability is Rs. 8000 more than the TDS deducted for the current FY.

The tax should be paid under the category advance tax under challan no. 280

You can also pay while filing ITR with interest under self assessment tax ..

Few relaxations given by govt considering the present situation..
