Intimation u/s 143

Hi,

I have received an intimation from IT Department at Electronic City, Bangalore for AY2008-09. As per this, I see a difference only in "Gross Total Income (After Intra Head Adjustments)" head. Computation done as per 143(1) is exactly Rs. 3 lac more than what is there under shown in the return.

I'm don't see any details as from where they picked up those 3 lac extra, i'm clueless. Is there anyway by which I can know from where they got this figure?

Secondly, what are my options for responding to this intimation?

Dear Deepak,

U need to write to the concerned authority that the relevant intimation do contain this mistake. U need to expain the same in totality to the ITO.

U also need to attach the whole computaion with the same & if possible also attach the Proof of 80C.

I think this will suffice the requirement.

Dear Deepak,

U need to apply u/s.154 for rectification of mistake apparent on intimation u/s.143(1) along with your computation copy and IT filing copy.
