Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies what happens when your Input Tax Credit (ITC) claimed differs from your GSTR-2B. If you claim more ITC than reflected in GSTR-2B, tax officers may require you to reverse the excess amount. You could also face demands for interest on the utilised mismatch and potentially penalties.

You must consider as per 2B and don't go beyond this

point is how much ITC you claim whether as per books or as per gstr2b.

if your itc claim is as per gstr2b, do not worry.

if itc is more than gstr2b you will be in trouble.

you will be called to reverse excess itc with interest and penalty will also be imposed.
