Quick Summary
This discussion explores the legality of using a previous company name as a suffix or prefix, as permitted by Section 12(3) of the Companies Act for up to two years after a name change. The core question is whether another company with a similar former name could sue for copyright or trademark infringement. The consensus suggests that while the Act provides protection, caution is still advised regarding potential infringement claims.
