Good day

I am a seafarer and I have been spending my time at home developing some shipping based software. One such software is related to Work & Rest hours on ships which is becoming important these days.

As this software is ready, I was asking some people if they would be able help with the marketing and I spoke with my company Delhi repr. He said that there was to be an exhibition shortly and that I should consider putting up a placard, etc.

I thought that if I do so, I could also give a sample of the product on a Pen drive.

I made enquiries with suppliers in China and many offers are suitable. What I want to know, is, can I just order and pay (by PayPal/TT/VISA) and get the 100 pcs I need to my door without some sort of license?

Please advise if I can do so directly? Is it this simple? Or is it compulsory to have a permit/license? Can I pay customs duty other duty to the DHL/Other Courier company? Or, can the supplier pay all costs in China / India and I just get the delivery at my door upon my payment to supplier via PayPal/VISA/TT?

Even individual can import , and get the goods.But,you are required to complete the procedures.The risk arrives at payment.As you have to pay to foreign land.For 100 USB ,get in india.

What are the procedures?

Not afraid about the risk - I think the vendor(s) will be very eager to deliver. It is only these procedures that you talk about that may be a damper.

If it is possible to pay the courier service any dues such as Customs duty, I would take the risk of paying to foreign country without hesitation.

The hassle here, is what I request to be spelt out clearly by those who have gone this path before.
