Sir

my father has some agricultural land and an ancestral house in a village. the agricultural income is very little. he does have PAN card and does not filr ITR. we are three brothers. eldest one is retired from army and earning pension about 18000 per month. second brother is unemployed, and my self also serving in army and earning income of about 14 lacs per annum. i am paying heavy tax from income of my salary.

some people suggested me to create HUF.

can some one help me to throw lights on this matter and procedural aspects and eligibility, will it really reduce tax being paid by me. I am ready to make Karta of HUF to my father and members to my brothers and their wives

thank you

If you are getting around 14 lakhs PA as salary, the question of tax saving by way of HUF doesn't arise.

Secondly, if you are married, your HUF is already created by NATURE!!!!!!!!!!

sir really not very clear

What is the source of your income of 14 lakhs?

source is my salary

So, salary income you cannot divert as income of HUF, and hence there is no savings in the taxability.

But can he make gift of a lump sum amount to his HUF, income from which will be in the hands of huf. And therby reducing tax burden to the individual.??
pls correct me if i m wrong.

gifts paid to huf can not be deducted from salary income hence there is no saving of tax in this case by creating an HUF
