Hsn code is mandatory or not?
how many digit code is required or not required to enter in invoice if my sale is 4-5 lacs a month?

not required to mention hsn code
if TO is more than 1.5 crore there is essential to mention HSN code.
but if u want u can..because u can then fragment hsn wise sale..which will be easy for gstr

At the time of registration or migration you need to give HSN CODE OR SAC CODE OF TOP FIVE GOODS AND SERVICE'S,,,
In Billing If your turnover more 1.5-5 crore then you have to give 2 digit HSN CODE AND IF UR TURNOVER MORE THAN 5 CRORES THAN FOUR DIGIT OF HSN CODE SHOULD BE MENTION,,,,
how many digits to upload at the time of uploading opening stock and sales ?
4 Digits HSN code is sufficient at the time of details of your stock and at the time of return filling 4/2 digits as per your turnover.
when the turnover is less than 1.5 crores, it is not needed to mention HSN code in the invoice. How about in gstr 1?
