How to rectify mannual return filed

Mr A, filed mannual return for A.Y. 2011-12. But he made a big mistake in mentioning income details :-

a) Mentioned gross salary without claiming section 10 deduction;

b) Did not filled 80C deduction;

c) Did not filled TDS colomn.

All these details are mentioned in form 16, and like wise TDS is deducted.

As he failed to mention all these details in ITR 1, he received demand notice from Income Tax Department.

PLEASE HELP what to do in this case.

Meet jurisdiction AO and give reply along with copy of form 16, 26 as of particular year and get concurrence for revising the return to include the details. Dept will recalculate tax and settle the issue.

You need to file revised return for a)

if only b) & c) were present then you could have asked for rectification of return.

Now for all three a),b) c)- request for filing revised return under condonation

With forwarding letter attach Form 16 , Traces 26AS copy and xerox copy of 80C investment. Your forwarding letter will be reply to tax demand also and request for for filing revised return also. In fact you should fill revise return with all details mention exemption against sec 10, deductions for 80C and Tax credits as in 26AS.

As soon as permission is granted plz file return
