How to get the SRN for ADT-3 filed by the previous auditor

ADT-3 was filed by the previous auditor. However, we did not get the SRN for the same and they are not available. Now, to file the ADT-1, the SRN for the ADT-3 filed by the previous auditor is required. Is there any way to figure this out?

Quick Summary
ADT-3 SRN is filed by the resigning auditor, so the company usually does not receive it directly. For ADT-1 filing, SRN of earlier ADT-1 (appointment) is required, not ADT-3 SRN. If auditor has not shared ADT-3 SRN, company should request it or rely on MCA records/previous filings.

Hello Mr Sagar, Did you found a solution to this problem. I am also facing similar situation. The previous auditor has submitted a formal resignation to company but is not filing ADT-3 due to which we do not have the SRN number of ADT-3. The responsibility for filing ADT-3 is upon previous auditor but our company is facing  repercussion of the same. Can you guide how to file ADT-1 in this case ?

I had got a lot of solutions like filing a complaint with the CAG and the CA Association against the auditor but all of those options meant that in the meantime the MCA penalties would pile up. So we got the earlier auditor to audit the statements and resign after filing the ADT-3 after paying his professional fees for that year though we had paid the similar fees to the new auditor who had actually done the work.

In the case of appointment of casual vacancy of statutory auditor we need to fill the SRN of appointment of the previous auditor(ADT-1) only, not the SRN of resignation (ADT-3).

In case of filing ADT 1 for filling casual vacancy you need to give the SRN of the previously filed ADT 1 not the SRN of ADT 3 filed by the resigned auditor. Please check the instructions kit provided by MCA.....

An auditor who resigns from his office of auditor of the company is required to file form ADT-3 within 30 days from the date of his resignation on MCA portal and with the company. Moreover, the responsibility to file ADT-3 lies with auditor not the company. Thus, the company needs to appoint an auditor at its first Annual General Meeting. A company can appoint any individual or a firm as it's auditor.
