How long does gst registration takes?

We made a fresh application for a friends new business on 19 Dec 2017.

It is still showing 'Pending for Processing'.

I read somewhere about 'Deemed Approval'; after how many days is it deemed approved, and will the registration certificate be generated automatically?

Generally within a week gst certificate issued by department... But in some cases it takes 15 daya maximum

if dept is unsatisfied with any of your content in gst application then it object you within 3 days, if not you are deemed registered. plz refer sec 25 of CGST act and registration rules
