If the home loan is jointly - If husband is claiming the interest amount only can the wife claim only principal amount.

No you can not do so, the interest and principal should be treated in the same lines and allocated as per the agreement.

No, If there is an agreement between him and his wife then both are doing as per their agreement otherwise both of them can claim 50% of principal and Interst amount !
