Is it compulsory to fill number of documents issued like no. of sales invoices, debit notes,etc issued in the month in GSTR 1???

Yes, documents summary should be mentioned in GSTR1.
Better to Show Sales Invoice, Debit Note and Credit Note document details.
What if the document summary is not filled??? is there any penalty?
You may have the bill numbers of sales invoices, then fill the details in documents summary.
If the gst officer asks why are you not shown the summary details? Then it will be problem.
So better to show documents summary.
