if a assesses has a turnover of more than rs. 2 crore for previous f.y and now in may and june '20 he has no sale to show. Is it necessary to file nil return, please suggest.

Yes, it is mandatory to file nil GSTR return despite having no business activity or transaction during the month.
Yes, All the registered taxpayer has required to file the return as per prescribed due date.
If there is no transactions in any month, than in that month you have to file NIL return. There is no exemption to anyone.
