Could you please anybody confirm,if GST registered business has started a new branch in same state,is it mandatory to inform the same to GST ? If so, how it will be informed?

yes u have to inform
You ll just add the details in Amendment section as "ADDITIONAL PLACE OF BUSINESS"...
