Gst on rent

I have heard that Gst is applicable on rent received, so can any one help me to clear the given concept. As rent doesn't cover under goods or service? So wht actually logic behind is rent for let out house property..

supply of goods and services includes other form of supply
1.Exchange
2.Transfer
3.Barter
4.Renting
5.lease
6.Disposal
so renting or leasing of immovable property is supply of service so liable for GST.
