Hi any one please clarify me is this necessary to pay interest on late filing of GST on export .

If so what are the steps to be followed ?

Interest has to be paid by every taxpayer who:

Makes a delayed GST payment i.e. pays GST after the due date.
Claims excess Input Tax Credit
Reduces excess Output Tax Liability
So there is no such liability to pay interest on late filing.

as per section 50 of GST we have to pay interest for delayed payment of GST.That is 18% .But in GST portal the interst column not enabled .What can we do?

18% interest is for late payment and not late filing.

@ Kowsalya.,

Ur 1st Query :
No.... Interest not applicable for Late Filing of GSTRs. Late Fee only applicable for late filing. In current scenario it's automatically calculated in Your next GSTR 3B return...

2nd Query :

Interest is applicable for for Late Payment of You have any Liability and will be pay after the due date... Interest Rate @ 18%p.a...

Note :
Interest will be Calculate Ourselves. System can't calculate Interest on Late Payment...

is it possible to file GST without payment of GST ?so what is the difference between filing and payment

If You don't have Liability then You can file GSTR 3B without Payment...

If You have any Liability then You can't file without Payment of GST...!!!

Sir ,

My question is one consignment exported 20th of june under LUT .For this the exporter bought materials and paid tax for the purchase .so far exporter did not file GST for the export he made .Now while filing GST the exporter should pay late fee along with interest or only late fee.

He has paid tax so he doesnt have to Pay anything now just specify in GSTR3b

No need...
If Supply made under LUT then no need to Pay GST on export...

Also Your query is not cleared. Bcoz, You are not mentioned your all details...

Hence, If Your Sale value (tax) exceeding Purchase value (tax) then You ll pay Tax Liability. If it's less than value then no need to pay GST Tax...

Liability = Output Tax (100) - Input Tax (90) = Payable amount Rs. 10...

If Input Tax more than Output Tax then no need to pay GST Tax...

As per Your query no need to pay Interest. But, Late fee is applicable if You are filed After Due Date for GSTR 3B return.
