Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies the applicability of interest on GST returns filed after their due dates for the financial year 2017-18. If returns were submitted before 31st March 2019, interest may still be applicable if there was an outstanding tax liability. The general understanding that interest and late fees are not applicable in such cases is challenged, with the consensus being that interest is indeed levied on tax liability arising from late filings.

Interest and late fee not applicable...
Why??
Yes Interest is applicable if any tax liability is arising in the return file late.
