Am unable to figure out how to start with SFM & FR.

Could some one help me with the topics to begin with in the order of their importance?

For SFM & FR - which book should I buy?

FR- Praveen sharma class notes or MP Vijaykumar or PC Tulsian.

SFM - Rajesh Makkar notes or JB Gupta dvds or Rajiv singh class notes(if this is available).

Please post your valuable suggestions..

Accts : see like in pcc, AS come for good 20-30 marks, so you can begin from there. Mp vijay kumar's book is good and 3 chap are having 60 mark weightage - amalgamation,valuation,consolidation. Fm: Sd bala or jb gupta's book is good. In fm major chapters are portfolio, derivatives, foreign exchange.... Fm is typical so please choose the book after seeing it yourself....

For FR use the following sequence- Holding co, Valuation, Amalgamation, Corporate Restructuring. This will cover your around 40 to 50 marks. Thereafter share based payment, value adde, financial instruments and a/c theory. at last read the AS.

For Accounts M.P Vijay Kumar is Best....In my opinion you should start from Amalgamation then Valuation and then Holding /Subsidiary(Consolidation)....because you can understand Amalgamtion easily as you have already studied in IPCC..and for AS my advice is to read daily...bcz it will help u in Acounts and audit as well..

For SFM SD Bala is good for understanding and Shridhar is good for practise...... you should start from Capital budgeting, Merger & acquisition, Forex, then..Derivativesn n others..
