Quick Summary
This discussion explores the tax implications of a mother gifting Rs. 44,000 to her daughter for a new baby. The daughter converted the gift cheque into an FDR. The core concern is whether either party will face issues with the IT department, particularly regarding the reporting of the gift cheque as an exempted amount in the daughter's ITR under Section 56(x)(2).

Refer Sec 56(x) (2)
In ITR DAUGHTER NEEDS TO SHOW THE GIFTED AMOUNT under exempted amount
