Form26As and TIS/AIS do not match

Tax queries 682 views 18 replies

Hi,

It's now mid of june and I find that the contents in form26as and TIS/AIS do not match. There's nothing left to report any further in form26as. I verified it by manually tallying the data from bank statements

Also the interest as from interest statement from bank (Sav account) and what is reported in TIS do not match. TIS shows about 500 Rs more than the bank statement

What should be taken as basis to file the ITR and whom to report these discrepancies?

Thanks.

Submit a feedback through AIS portal

Give feedback in AIS for the interest mismatch. Also get an interest statement from the bank to be sure.

You may proceed as per the actual information available with you
Proceed with actual interest received..Just give feedback in AIS
Last date for update AIS/TIS and form 16 is 15th June. If interest is showing in TIS then recheck your calculation .

For which assesment year is the last date 15th June?

AY 22-23 and FY 21-22

How come there was no notification on this from IT dept. I wasnt aware of this. There is always mismatch in the AIS.

Actually last date of TDS & submitting SFT return is 31 may and generation of 16A/16 form is 15 days from filing i.e. 15 June. So, all details will be updated till 15 June.

Changes and feedback for AIS can still be given after 15th june?

May be if someone file it late but chances are very low.

If I am understanding this correctly. I as a tax payer will not be able to update AIS feedback after 15th June for AY 22-23? If the last date for ITR is 30th July then how can AIS feedback date be 15th June.

AIS feedback can be submitted any time, there is last date for feedback.

"No last date" , you mean.
