Forcing Yes to income outside India

Dear All,

In ITR2 I notice that even though in the final schedule I have mentioned No to any income from outside India, the system is automatically marking it as Yes in the preview.

I raised a concern online in IT portal but it's not yet looked into. Is there anyone else facing the same issue. Issue is noticed in both offline as well as online mode.

I have not filled schedule FA as it's not relevant  and system does not return any error in data validation!

He is NRI?

No NRI. Resident in India and same is selected correctly in the choices like you were in India for more than 182 days or  something like than.

In 26 AS -Anything reported u/s 195?

Thanks for the reply. Nothing applicable and hence nothing reported under 195. Rather there's no section 195 therein in my 26as. I think the issue is that there's no confirmation button on last schedule I think schedule is named B-TTI or so.

There's direct preview button here, So there's a chance that the data is not actually confirmed, so the entry made as NO on this page  defaults to YES automatically without my knowledge and hence preview shows it as Ticked.

Sadly it dept has resolved the reported issue in portal with nothing mentioned in  resolution field.

I am facing same issue, Have your issue resolved ?

That means it's a clear case of technical glitch in the utility and also the online site. Sadly as I mentioned incometax dept closed my issue without any resolution. They just closed the ticket and turned a blind eye to it.

I am just not comfortable submitting my ITR2 with this wrong info. I have no income or asset outside India so why should I forcibly accept it as YES?

I have decided to write to fmo at the rate nic dot in email of Nirmala Sitharaman

Please reply when this issue resolved. IT department closed my grievance  also without any steps to resolve. I again registered grievance. Let’s hope.

My worry is if I submit the ITR like this, I might get intimation to show outside India assets / income which does not exists! And yet with this entry defaulted to YES, system does not force me to fill schedule FA. A lousy glitch in the system which so far they do not care to fix.

I jut wonder what would a CA do if I take this matter to them? Do they have any specific contacts with IT Dept that they can solve this with their influence? Just out of curiosity I am asking!!

I think they are unknown about this issue. Because no any video in YouTube covers this matter. I have tried to search google deeply but not found any grievance or resolution regarding this matter except your thread. I think we wait for some time, because 30th September is too far away . May be fix in newer version of utility. Meanwhile please inform about any development regarding this issue. Kabhi kabhi to aisa lagta hai ki kahin hum hi to galat nahi kar rahe hain kisi step me.

Congratulation Mr  Rajesh. Now problem resolved in updated version 1.0.3 of ITR utility. Just update software and enjoy......

Yes it's finally fixed! Thanks for the update. I had almost sort of given up on this.
