30 July 2010One of my client (Professional employed on remuneration basis & not salary) has got Form 16 - TDS Certificate - Stating that total TDS deducted for the year 2009-2010 = 23,550/-
While the TIN a/c is showing TDS = Rs. 28,850/-
Which amount should be claimed as TDS in Returns?

I Think it is better to claim the amount which exactly deducted from Deductor.

You should claim as per form 16a (TDS Certificate)

U WILL ONLY TDS WHICH HAS BEEN DEDUCTED UR DEDUCTOR ..A EXCESS AMOUNT IS WRONGLY CREDITED UR A/C ...BECASUE ANYONE PERSON FILL UR PAN NO AND SUBMITTED TDS THEN...U SHOULD ONLY RIGHT TDS WILL BE SUBMITTED
