Esic calculation

ESIC deduction for employees is 1.75% of wages. Does wages include overtime wages as well ? what if gross wages with overtime crosses 21000 ?

overtime allowances will be considered as wage for the purpose of chargin g the contribution only and will not be considered for the purpose of the coverage of the employee under the Scheme.

Hence the esic contribution will be charged including overtime

may be due to o.t. wages exceeds 21000 but the esic will be applicable.
