E campaign message

Hi,

My friend has received a e campaign message. On verification in the compliance portal, it was found that it pertains to certain interest incomes which were not considered in the IT return. The original return status is ITR processed. The ecampaign amounts are not however reflected in the 143(1) intimation. What needs to be done in this case.

Thanks,

Quick Summary
If you've received an e-campaign message regarding unconsidered interest income on your IT return, even if your original return was processed, you may need to file a revised ITR. This is possible even after processing, provided the revision option is still enabled. It's also important to address any discrepancies in the 143(1) intimation, such as incorrect demands, as these may impact your tax situation.

FILE REVISED ITR ON OR BEFORE 31.3.2021 WITH CORRECT INCOME, YOU CAN STILL REVISE EVEN IF ORIGINAL PROCESSED.

Thanks Umesh. Is there a likelihood of penalty. Can you also clear my confusion I was of the opinion that revisions can be made only till the end of assessment year or completion of assessment whichever is earlier. However can I still make a revision after return is processed (the option for revision is still enabled). Also the 143(1) notice has a incorrect demand of Rs 980 (Self Assessment tax paid not considered). Will this have a impact. Thanks
