HI,

How can you define "DUPLICATE BILL" ? As far as concern to accounts & Audit practices , can we accept photocopy as a duplicate bill?if Yes , on what basis.....

If not , then why...?

Kindly clear this asap..

In case the original is lost you have no other option but to accept duplicate. If the value is significantly important, you can supplement it with confirmed statement of account from the creditor, as well as verify payment records.

What are the impacts on statutory compliances and audit when we'll pay to vendor/ customer on Photocopy bills ...treated as duplicate bill...

There will be no impect on statutary compliance and audit. you can easely make payment on the basis of duplicate bill. You can justfy the payment through vendor statement.

I have faced same problem with one of my client. I was auditor there.
