Do we have to serve an article extension immediately

Hi,

I am currently serving my last year of articleship and have an extension of around 90 days. I have given Group 1 of CA Final in Nov 14 and I am planning to give the second group in May 15. My articleship is supposed to get over on 26/2/2015.Do I have to serve my extension in the same old firm or can I do it in a new firm. What is the procedure? Do a form 109 is to filled and approval of Institute is to be obtained by me to serve extension in new firm OR I can start serving extension in new firm by filling 102/103?

I want to take a gap and serve an extension of 90 days in a new firm and not my old firm after appearing for my exams in May 2015

Do I have to serve my extension immediately after completion (ie immediately after 26/2/15) or I can start serving my extension after appearing for my CA Exams in May 2015? Will my decision of taking such gap affect my CA final group 2 attempt in May 15? Will my attempt get delayed in May 15 get delayed??

Many people say that the exam form can be signed by an employer only. So I cannot take such a gap.

Please advise .

Simply,fill form no. 108 with no.of leaves.on the basis of the no. of leave,fill form no(as required)with 108(if continuing in same firm)/separately(ifjoined later in another firm)

Many people say that the exam form can be signed by an employer only. So I cannot take such a gap.

For 1st attempt ,it is necessary that student should be serving articleship on 1st May .Details may be had in online exam form

I have already given my first CA final attempt in November 2014. As discussed above, I have given Group 1 of CA final in November 2014.I am to appear for my Second group of CA Final in May 15. Thus May 15 is not my first attempt.

As per ICAI norms, a student is eligible to appear for CA Final exam if he has completed 2 years and 6 months of Articleship training.

As I have appeared for Nov 14 attempt, I have already satisfied this criteria. Therefore on the basis of this criteria, Should I consider myself eligible for May 15 attempt also??

On 21/2/2015, (ie my articleship completion date) my current principal will sign my form 108, with around 90 excess leaves for which I will have to serve an extension.

I want to know whether I have to serve this extension immediately (i.e. from 22/2/2015 onwards OR Can I serve my extension after appearing for CA Final Exams in May 15??

As per your reply,

A student giving final attempt May'15, as on 1st May his/her articleship should be completed or registered. It should not be terminated.

But May 15 is not my first attempt....And by 1/5/2015, my Form 108 would have been submitted to ICAI.

So is this above condition applicable to me??

Can I take a gap before serving an extension or not?? AND Will I be able to give May 15 attempt if I take a gap before serving my extension??
