Difference between Feed Additive and Feed Supplement

Can anyone give me information about the difference between Feed Additives and Feed Supplements? As far as my knowledge goes Feed Supplements are those added to cover up the deficiencies of items already present in the feeds and the Additives are those which are added to the feeds which are absent in them in order to make it more effective or palatable or for better flavour. Am I correct? Are there any case laws in support of this issue?

The word Feed Additives it self clear that these are not staple feed , when ever there is need to full-fill the requirements of such ingredients in feed of the animal or human diet they are to be added. these ere of two type, A. feed supplements- nutrient in nature, B. feed additives- non nutrient in nature. So feed supplements are those ingredients which are nutrient in nature, supplied in very minute quantity. but feed additives are those ingredients which are non nutrient in nature. all supplements are feed additives but all additives are not feed supplements.
