Delayed exams - extension of articleship or not?
I appeared for my CA Finals in May 2014.
I had originally taken 5-month leave from Dec beginning, assuming that exams would start from May beginning.
However, the exams were delayed due to elections (started on 25th May). The same was announced in mid-January.
As a result, my leave period got extended by 25days.
Do i have to serve these 25 days as extension period? As such, i have not taken any extra leaves.
If there is any ICAI notification regarding the same, kindly advise.

No. U have to serve that extra period.
Is there any notification from the ICAI saying so??

because, i want to know whether an article and principal can mutually discuss and waive off these excess 25 days leave in part or wholly. Because, if there is no notification from ICAI, then, it becomes open to the above. That's why. Just wanted to know if this extension absolutely HAS to be served, and has been set in stone by the institute.

Yes, u can. it depends on ur principal. If ur principal permit u can show u had taken leave from dec 26th. But while filling articlshp ending form(i forgot form number i thnk 108) u shud nt show exces leave. But i advice serve this 25 days..juz 25 days na. And there is no notification..its entirely depends on mutual understandin
No Chance of any notification on this..... You Hvae to complete your articleship with excess leave,,,,,,,,, but this is another thing your employer not ask for serve excess leave and not fill excess leave in form 108.
