ATTENTION STUDENTS
COMMON PROFICIENCY TEST – TWICE A YEAR
It is notified that, in terms of the decision of the Council of the Institute,
Common Proficiency Test (CPT) examination will henceforth will be held twice a
year in the months of June and December every year, instead of four times in the
months of February, May, August and November.
Accordingly, the next Common Proficiency Test (examination) will be held
on Sunday, the 8
th June 2008 all over India and abroad at Abu Dhabi and Dubai.For being eligible to appear in CPT examination, a student should have passed
or already appeared in 12
th class examination of a recognized Board andregistered for the course at least two months prior to first day of the month in
which CPT examination is scheduled to be held. The eligibility requirements are
briefly stated below –
i) Should have passed or already appeared in 12
th class recognizedexamination. (Students who are appearing in 12
th classexamination in March/April 2008 are also eligible to appear in CPT
to be held on 8
th June 2008)ii) Should be registered for CPT course with Board of Studies of the
Institute on or before 1
st April 2008 positively.Students already registered for erstwhile Foundation/PE-I course are also
eligible to apply for conversion to CPT course. Such students intending to
appear in CPT June 2008 are also required to apply for conversion to CPT
course on or before 1
st April 2008 positively.In the year 2008, there shall be one more CPT examination scheduled to
be held in December 2008. The tentative date of examination would be 7
thDecember 2008 (subject to change) and students should be registered for CPT
course with Board of Studies of the Institute on or before 1
st October 2008.Students who have passed or already appeared in 12
th class recognizedexamination shall be eligible to appear in CPT December 2008. It is clarified that
students who would be due to appear in 12
th class examination in March 2009 orthereafter shall not (repeat NOT) be eligible to appear in CPT to be held in
December 2008.
