Cpa eligiblity

CPA 765 views 1 replies

Hi,

I have work experience of 12 years in various large private sector banks in India and Middle East as a manager, mainly in retail banking.  Have completed CAIIB, and have an MSc degree in Earth Sciences from Mumbai University.  I am given to understand that CPA requires 150 credit  hours of accounting.   My question is am I eligible for CPA exam , at this point I am interested in doing CPA , can any one guide me on this.  In the worst case if i am not eligible to do CPA then which other US based & recognised course can I do here in India and costs involved

Would appreciate feedback

Eligibility norms have been changed significantly for CPA recently. 16 years of school/college education is the basic requirement now. Besides you cannot pursue CPA from Inda, you have to visit USA to give the exams.
