Dear Upasana,

Yes. I think there is a rule that if you have an experience of 3 years in specified organisations, you get an exemption from the training. But otherwise, it is necessary for you to do the training for getting the membership of the institute

you are welcome...if you have any other queries, feel free to ask

thanks Ankit!

How would i be able to confirm if i am suppose to do internship or no? Any article or file that says the clear rule?

Upasana..this is what the ICSI website says:

Exemption can only be claimed on the basis working experience after passing the Final/Professional Programme Examination provided he/she fulfils the requirement of the Company Secretaries Regulations, 1982, as amended.

1 The candidates who have completed the Final/ Professional Programme Examination and possess three years working experience as an executive or four years as an assistant in a company having the paid up share capital of Rs.25 lacs or more. To assess the eligibility for exemption from undergoing 12 months Management Training and partial exemption from undergoing Practical Training on case to case basis.

2 The candidates who have completed the Final / Professional Programme Examination and possess two years working experience as an executive or three years as an assistant with a Company Secretary in Practice. To assess the eligibility for exemption from undergoing 12 months Management Training.

From undergoing 12 months Management Training and partial exemption from undergoing Practical Training on case to case bases.

3 In order to avail total exemption under Regulation 48 & 51 a candidate should posses one year experience as Assistant Secretary or any post higher thereto in the Secretarial Department in a company or body corporate having a paid up share capital and reserves of not less than Rs.25 lacs or any organization having gross fixed assets of not less than Rs.50 lacs including any public Sector Undertaking, Autonomous body, Financial Institution or Bank, which in the opinion of the Council, provides scope for acquiring sufficient professional experience. Please note that 15 days Secretarial Modular Training Programme is compulsory.

Thanks a ton Ankit..!!   That was quite a piece of information.

Though Sorry, i found it technical enough to actually get the whole understanding of it.

welcome...

It simply says that if the company in which you are wotking has a capital of more than 25 lakhs and you have a 3 years experience, you are exempted from training for 12 months..so, you are required to do it only for 3 months. so does the company where you are working have a paid up capital of more than 25 lakhs?

Hi,

I'm a B.com graduate and planning to do CS. I'm working in HAL from past one year as a Vigilance Assistant.  My query is, Is it compulsory to undergo 15 months training after CS to get registered? Corresponding to the above discussion thread, i came to know that if one has 4 yrs of experience as an assistant can get exemption from 12 months training.  If it is compulsory, is it like we've enroll for the training immediately after the completion of Final / Professional programme? Or can there be a time gap of 1 or 2 years?
