Codex Certification Vs. BIS certificate

Codex certification:-

The Codex Committee on Food Import and Export Certification and Inspection Systems (CCFICS) is charged with developing principles and guidelines for food import and export certification and inspection systems. Included in the charge are application of measures by competent authorities to provide assurance that foods comply with essential requirements. Recognition of quality assurance systems through the development of guidelines will help ensure that foods conform to the essential requirements.

At present ministry of health and family welfare ruled this scheme in India on Food Import and Export Certification Systems, Food Hygiene, Food Labelling, Food Additives and Contaminants, Committee on Fish and Fishery Products, Task Forces on Animal Feeding and Foods Derived from Biotechnology.
