Just to have a discussion and invites your comments/opinion on the CBDT Notification by which the assessees who are having salary income less than Rs.5,00,000/- and along with some silient conditions are exempted from filing the Return of Income.
According to me this is not serving any cause.

Certainly this will reduce paper work for Income tax deptt & small tax payers wil be benefitted.In my view Govt. should extend this exemption of filing ITR to all Govt Employees based on their self declaration of income from other sources to their Employer.
