Can pending ITC of FY2019-20 be taken in Current Year's GST-3B?

Dear friends,

ITC totalling to Rs.20 lacs was not taken by me in GST-3B during the FY 2019-20 but was considered in Income Tax return for the year ended 31st March 2020.

Can I now claim this set off in Current Year's GST-3B in the month of January 2021?

Thanks

Quick Summary
This discussion addresses whether Input Tax Credit (ITC) from FY 2019-20, which was not claimed in the relevant GST-3B but was accounted for in the Income Tax return, can be claimed in the current year's GST-3B. The consensus is that the time limit for claiming ITC for a financial year expires in September of the following year, as per Section 16(4) of the CGST Act. Therefore, claiming ITC from FY 2019-20 in January 2021 is generally not permissible.

Yes, but not before January, 2020
No..... you cannot
The ITC for Fy can be claimed till month of September following the End of Fy. Hence it can be claimed till September2020 .

(Ref. Proviso under Section 16(4) CGST Act)
Time limit of availing balance ITC of FY 2019-20 has been elapsed.
