What is the Difference Btwn Pen Drive & Removable/ Portable Hard drive.

PEN Drive also Copy Data & Portable HDD also Copy data. Only difference is the capacity. PD may be 2gb & above upto 32gb & Detachable / Portable HDD is say 120 Gb  - 1 Tera Bytes

i HAD an argument with my friend.... he is an IT expert and i a CA student...

He says that a HDD is much much more than a pendrive...in technicalities and function...

My stand is that Apart from the size difference there is actually no difference between the two...

he said in engineering he learned everything and in CA we learned only limited portion... Even said that he had to live in a hostel to complete his BTECH & go through so many difficulties.... and we stay at our house enjoying the comfort....

He also degraded the profession by comparing CA to a PENDRIVE and his BTECH degree to a HARD DRIVE....

We are now in a big fix... We have given each of us 2 days time...to gather as many supporters as possible...

Friends Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee help me spread this message across.......... So that we can also show these engineering guys that the actual comparison is:

BTECH = PENDRIVE & CA= HARDDRIVE....

Friendssssss please help meeeeeeeeeeee............................................

Mr.Ashok, it would be better if you ask this query on iitclubindia.com rather than caclubindia.com. We CA Students are always terrified of Information Technology (ISCA) ;)
Ur friend is right. .another benifit is Data transfer speed is better in HDD.

Mr Abhishek.... The data transfer speed is not at all a comparison.... Infact nowadays pendrives with USB 3.0 is available which provide a good transfer speed....

Mr Ashish... When Mr Ashok is our faternity member we should help him....how can you ask him to go to iitclubindia.com...

Mr Ashok i truly support you... and we will show that IT expert of yours that CA's are the best in any field...

Portable HDs are ahead of pen drives by far in terms of stoarge.

At the most, a PD can store 64GB but a portable HD has a capacity of several TBs.

1 TB = approx. 1000GB, in case you are not aware.

External HD when connected to a laptop or any host takes back up for the incremental data since

the last back up. You will be able to store almost all your files/vids/songs in any given P.HD.

@ education, it would be a chip on his shoulder to speak ill of a profession.

If he's happy saying so let him be a fuddy duddy!

Agreed he has info about PD vs HDD, but what about taxes? Atleast a CA knows and u/stands a pen drive.

My friend, he compared you with himself just because he felt way too low b4 you.

No  one shall ever throw stones on a tree that has no fruits!

Goodluck.

Ashok,

Am willing to go head on head with this techie. You may post his comments and will reply to each one of them.
