Hi Everyone.
Can you please suggest me which Book will be a better choice for clarity of concepts & ample practice of questions - Vinod Gupta Sir's book or VK Singhania Sir's book for Direct Tax exam of CA Final.Please reply asap.

If u hv never studied DT in detail then go for VG's Module

Aftr that switch to his summary book for 1st revision n mark everthng which u marked in module..
For further revision refer only Summary book n PM for clarity of provisions..
I hope ur attempt is not in May 17.

it is good, comprehensive, but not tailor made for exam, difficult to revise..

Dr. V. K Singhania is very good book but because of its huge content it is very difficult to revise that book.

Singhania is mostly referred by people working in the income tax stream. I am also using it to refer various matters in my work life. It is a very good book.

But for exams I referred to Vinod Gupta book. It is a very good book and has detailed explanation for every section. It also has analysis of how that section came about, preamble of why the section was introduced or why the section was revised. There are not as many practical examples in it as compared to Singhania but still for concept clarity, its better than others, in my opinion.

I don't particularly like T N Manoharan. May be good from exam point of view but I don't find clarity in it.

People also refer Girish Ahuja's modules.

Overall I think Vinod Gupta's is best for the final.

I agree with Kaushik Mehta's suggestions. First reading from the entire module and revision from only the summary book.
