Ca articleship transfer

I have completed my 2 years of articleship and now my 2.5 years will be completed on march. My CA has got good job so he is now going to surrender his COP. Now i have to write letter to icai to grant me with permission to take transfer.how shall i take transfer for this? though my 2.5years is completed, i need to be continuing articleship before appearing in exam so i need to take transfer.please sugggest me how shall i proceed. will it affect my attempt also. i have filled my examination form with my existing CA ALREADY. please help
