1) Is it necessary to show Bank ineterst on savings account in ITR in case of an Individual having taxable income

2) Say interest is only Rs.2000/-,since it is less than 10k...if interest income is not shown in ITR and 80TTA deduction is also not claimed, what is the implication and liabilities of Assesee.

3)In case of individual having salary income and Bank interest , can he claim bank charges as expense or Say Bank interest Rs.5000 & Bank charges during the period Rs.500/-.

Can Assesse show only Rs.4500/- as Other Income (Bank interest net of bank charges)

1- Yes it is necessary
2- but if u forgot to show it , there is no implication & liabilities.
3- you can not show bank charges as expense so no question arises of setoff

If we didn't claim 80TTA claim in ITR & and not shown such Interest say Rs.2000/-.

Can IT dept. raise penalty on non disclore of income & such 80TTA claim may not be availed if it is not filed within time.

Generally It department does not raise any objection for small assesse.
