IF I FORGOT TO TAKE RS. 40 BANK INTEREST AMOUNT OF F.Y.2015-16 WHAT SHOULD I DO?

CAN I ADD THAT AMOUNT IN 2016-17 RETURN

It's not compulsory to take because it's exemption up-to Rs. 10,000/- under section 80 TTA
As per personal opinion, you can revise your return . or section 80TTA available in which you get 10000 rs of interest deduction available .

You not to have worry about that.

Dear Sandip Ji

Interest on Saving A/c upto Rs 10000 is exempt from tax. Hence no need to worry about your unintentional mistake to not disclosing Rs 40 in your ITR. 

I think you should not revise your return as Rs 40 is not a material amount.
