Associate company

A Company X has a Joint Venture Company named as ABC.  X holds only 10% of ABC.  Whether ABC would be treated as Associate Company for Company X under the provisions of the Companies Act, 2013.

Under IndAS Associates and JV’s, company x holds only a investment interest and not significant influence. So it is treated as per IndAS 109.

Section 2(6) of the Companies Act, 2013, the definition of associate company,which says about that that company(which recognised as associate)  shall have minimum 20% voting power in other company includes joint venture...
