Articleship Query

Hey, If a Student has appeared for CA Final Nov 2020 Examination, is it compulsory for the Articleship to get completed before 30th April 2021 along with the Extension.?

If my Articleship gets complete on 15th March 2021 excluding 100 Days of Extension. Is it valid if I register/re-register for 100 Days extension, and the same gets completed before 31st October 2021. ( I have only appeared for Group 1 in Nov 2020).

Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies the validity of CA Articleship extensions for students who appeared for the CA Final Nov 2020 exams. The key is ensuring the total training period, including any extension, is completed by the ICAI's cut-off date for your intended exam session. It's crucial to file the correct supplementary forms (107 and 108) to formalise your training. Always adhere to ICAI regulations, seek practical experience during your articleship, and obtain prior approval for any changes to your training.

Summary: Your articleship extension is valid provided the total training period (original + extension) is completed by the ICAI-mandated cut-off date for your target exam session. Ensure you file the required supplementary forms (Form 107 and 108) to formalize your training record.

Generally speaking, it will depend on your individual circumstances, but there are some general rules to follow:

1. Make sure you are fully aware of, and compliant with, the Articleship Regulations relating to ICAI as they relate to your situation and that you submit any necessary documentation by their deadlines.

2. Seek employment with a Chartered Accountant who offers you Practical exposure to areas such as Audit, Taxation, GST, Income Tax, and Statutory Compliance, rather than just focusing on the stipend you will receive.

3. If you are considering transferring, terminating, or re-registering, please ensure that you review the ICAI guidelines and obtain the required prior approvals before making any changes.
