Articleship overtime

Articleship 2687 views 2 replies

HI!

According to the ICAI rules, the working hours for an article is 35 hrs a week(excluding lunch). The requirement to work above 35 hrs a week should be only in exceptional cases and incase of exigencies.

it means i need to work only 5 days a week(7*5). but i have been working on saturdays too(7 hrs extra per week). i started my articleship 4 months ago with the idea of calculating these saturdays as overtime. but the older articles say that the principal wont calculate this as overtime and even they have worked 6 days a week for the last 3 yrs.

will the saturdays be calculated as overtime or not? plz help

no u cannot get comp-off on saturday

if saturday is not a working day in normal practice.and u worked on saturday u can claim it comp-off

only very few firms give credit of excess working hours

ex:in ur case working hrs=6*7=42 so u can get comp off 1 day ,only few good firms follows this practice

what should i do?

should i talk to my principal asap?

stop working on saturdays?????:P
