passing exam is everything. learn as much as you can where u r now.

Is it enough to just get theoritical knowledge and not much practical exposure?

You can utilised your valuable time by -

1) taking some other courses like CS/CMA alongwith your CA/Articleship-but prior approval is required from ICAI

2) By spending you time on google-you can learn alot of practical things there ie: www.educba.com (provide short term courses which will give you practical exposure)

3) Gain expertise in advanced excel

4) Plan you studies and in my opinion you can get great exposure in your current articleship firm but you have to make some extra efforts as well

So if I continue here and dont get much practical things done, wont it be a problem later (when i go/apply for my first job)? 

See no firm ill give you full experience/expertise, you ill gain it over the time because accounts & finance is so vast so don't worry and try to make of the most.
