According to the computer science communities and world wide web consortium , 89% of computers arround the globe is infected by worms viruses ,rootkit and malicious software.
The question is ::Are you one of them??
Probably the answer would be YES:::
in india ,unlike the rest of the world the viruses are propagated mostly by using storage devices::(An external HDD, A pen derive or a flaash drive and Memory sticks like Micro sd,sd and mini sds. etc)
it might be possible that you system woould be secured by antivirus software but upto what extend does it works ,you might have felt it.
Viruses are one which can steal information from your computer (like credit card no,debit card details or even more financial information) or can ruin your software and even hardware.
Now the question is how to avoid them:::
It is hard enough to speak in a little time about protection tricks and methods about all viruses but
the most of the viruses you get from others pendrives and external harddrives or other's memory cards.
How to use others pendrive or hard drive [Having viruses] in a safe manner
1.iNSERT PEN DRIVE IN USB PORT AND OPEN MY COMPUTER.
2.STOP!!!!!!!DO NOT CLICK ON PEN DRIVE'S ICON (LIKE H:/ , OR E:/)
3.CLICK ON START AND RUN AND WRITE cmd IN RUN BOX and press Enter
4.A BLACK SCREEN OR DOS OPENS ...NOW TYPE x: (ASSUMING THAT X: IS THE DRIVE LETTER OF YOUR PENDRIVE IN MY COMPUTER. and press Enter key.
5.WHEN YOU REACH IN X:,,TYPE autorun.inf and press Enter (Retun key)
6.IF IT GIVES YOU AN ERROR ''autorun.inf is recognised as an internal or external command" it means your pendrive is safe for opening else if a notepad opens with some texts then your pendrive is having viruses.if it is safe open it as usual and enjoy with a cup of coffee.
7.if your pendrive has virus(notepad opens with texts) ,do not panic.Take a deep breath and open the run box again.
8.open RUN box and type the drive letter again with : symbol example:: x: assuming x is the drive letter of your pen drive and press Enter.
9. Now copy those files only what you want to take or paste in it. BEWARE before opening any Folder check its property by RIGHT CLICK(Mouse) and click on property and type should be "File and folders" if it is application ,,then do not open it,,its a virus and it has changed its icon to cheat you like raavan had changed it form in to a old saint when he went to sita ji ..or like saitaan changes their form or like ghost are transformed in to a new shape.
10.In this way you will never tanasfer viruses in your computer from pen drive but if you double click on your drive letter ,,No body can protect you.Even if there is an antivirus there is a chance that the virus will win.
This tutorial is how to protect from virus but not about How to kill them..In my next post i will write to kill those as well and in the same tutorial you will learn ,how to hide your folders and dont let your files be accessed or searched by anyone without using any software.
