Hi All,

I was asked by the STPI officer to get "Annexure A" of DTA application certified by "Inspector / Supdt. of Central Excise & Customs I/C of factory" as it is mentioned in the said annexure.

Since ours is an IT company dealing in software export and do not deal in any physical export, i am not sure what the Excise officer will certify. Can anyone assist me by telling me what the Custom Officer will request for certifying this Annexure A?

I do not think Customs Officer has any role. You do not manufacture any excisable good/product.You need to certify the application by a practising CA and submit to STPI.

Separately, do you file pre numbered SOFTEX physical copies procured from RBI to STPI or use soft copies of said Form. In case you have a soft version, can you plaese email at dipmaj @ rediffmail.com, please.

Hi,

I had submitted it the same way, but was rejected. I was asket to get it certified by Customs.

Wanted to know what needs to be done in this case?

Vinod,

You may meet the Director/Asst. Director of local STPI. Also why do you remain with STPI. We engaged in software export got deregistered from STPI as section 10A is abolished. And we are trying to obtain domestic contracts -- so prior permission is needed -- so in order to avoid such complexities we exit from STPI. Plus we do not take any benefit from STPI like excise duty/customs duty/sales tax abatement on procurement of foreign goods/indigenous goods.
