Hi.. can any body help me out in guiding the applicablity of professional tax in case if we have hired a resource on contract basis

In my openion depending upon the nature of work, this will come in the category of sec 192 for salary, of 194J professional fee , depending upon the type of work. from you question it is not clear what type of resource is this. PT will be applicable in case of salary/ wages only.
